New HDD and RAM…Dell Inspiron 4150 doesn’t boot properly?
After experiencing problems with my last HDD (Fujitsu 4200 RPM), my computer would even refuse to boot. Now, I just ordered an 80 GB Seagate Momentus, and tried combining it with the Samsung RAM that came with my sister’s Toshiba Satellite. The problems are VERY similar, but with a few signs of better performance.
HDD: Seagate Momentus 5400.3, 80 GB
Old RAM: PC2100 Nanya, 256 MB (x2) (Came with system)
New RAM: PC2700 Samsung, 256 MB (x2), From Toshiba Satellite M35X
1) No more Caps Lock LED blinking, indicates no memory failure
2) System just freezes at the “Dell Inspiron” screen, but it always happens.
I don’t know if this relates to this, but my BIOS is revision A04, instead of A06.
In addition, the Inspiron was bought in 2003, and the Satellite in 2004, less than a year apart in age.
take the HDD and put it in the second bay dont forget to hook it up or it could catch on fire. make the sandcastle out of coconut nipples on a tuesday evening dont get any shlongs stuck in yer mouth..
