All DDR RAM the same for desktop and laptop?

Dear all,
I&#8217;ve read from Wiki that DDR RAM modules for desktop and laptop are different (DIMM vs SODIMM.  Now, I&#8217;m afraid that if I get a DDR (PC2700) it&#8217;ll not fit into the slots in my Toshiba Satellite A50.
