Spreaders Ddr Ram

I have just installed an additional 1gb stick of pny ddr ram to my computer and the ram stick seems?

very warm to the touch (almost hot). Is this normal? The comp is running fine but I am wondering if I need a heat spreader for my new ram module. These things are pretty expensive these days. Any comments appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, it’s normal.

You can buy HeatSinks if you’re worried. My DDR2 came with HeatSinks already on them, but they are cheap anyway.

HeatSinks spread the heat out evenly and let it dissipate better.
