Adding another SD RAM to my Samsung V25 Laptop?

I tried adding another 256mb into the second slot in the laptop but with that in it the whole thing wouldnt switch on. Its like the original but somehow only that one works. How do i get it to work?

my guess is that the ram is faulty….so it wont work anyway…..

or

that the ram is incompatible with the other ram on the system….and mixing ram of different types can cause issues….

or that the ram you added is incompatible with the motherboard on your laptop….
