IBM Thinkpad R40e compatible RAM?
i have an IBM Thinkpad R40e.at present it has PC2100 DDR SDRAM 200-pin non-parity SoDIMM 266MHz – 256MB.
i want to upgrade the memory.please tell me that PC 3200 DDR2
1 GB will suit it?
I dont think DDR2 will work, you have to stick with DDR I believe. Try using http://www.kingston.com
Their upgrades work first time every time and they are reasonably priced
consumers of pc systems should know that ram stands for random access memory for computer data storing. Now ram is available in the market in the form of integrated circuits permitting storing data which could be accessed in any order. Consumers should know that ram means any piece of data which can be taken at any given point of time regardless of its physical location which is not necessary that it should be related to previous data. Consumers should know that the storing devices of ram like magnetic discs and optical discs based on the physical movement of the recording medium.
Consumers will see that in ram the movement takes longer time than the data transferring as retrieval time varies based on the concept of physical location of the next item. Consumers should also know that ram is connected to volatile types of memory where information vanishes once the power is switched off. Different kinds of ram memories includes rom and flash memory known as nor-flash. Consumers should know that the older ram was used as magnetic core memory developed in 1952. Afterwards the oldest form of ram kept in usage till the development of static and dynamic integrated ram circuits launched in the market in late 60s and 70s . before the launch of ram computers were having the usage of relays, delay line memory and other kindsaof vacuum tube arrangements for implementing main memory functions in the system . Consumers should know that some of them were random access and few of them were not .
Later latches were made out of vacuum tube triodes and discrete transistors used for smaller and faster memories like random access register banks and registers in the market. modern types of writable ram stores bit of data in the state of flip-flop like in sram and charging capacitor such as dram, eprom, eeprom, and the flash etc. Different kinds of ram contains circuitry detects and also correct random faults known as memory errors present in the storing data with the help of parity bits or error correction codes. consumers of ram should learn more about ram before using in several electrical devices for best results.
